PRINT THE CUPCAKE DECORATING PRACTICE SHEET
Once you have downloaded the cupcake template into a save spot on the computer or online drive. Printing the template out on a colour printer is best so have the colour of the images there but it isn’t a must, the black and white image will be fine too.
LAMINATE
Once the template is printed, to ensure you can reuse it many times I would recommend having it laminated. If you have a laminator at home it is very quick and easy to do, but if you don’t have one maybe someone you know does or you can ask the local office supply store if they can do this for you. Or another method if you have a clear acrylic plastic or clear glass you can place the sheet underneath and pipe over the top. You can also use a plastic sleeve to practice on, but I find this might move around while you are piping on it.
PRACTICE
Practice is the really important key to having the piping confidence to decorate cupcakes for the important people in your life. You learn how YOU like to hold a piping bag, your pressure control technique and your own piping style. I have listed the types of nozzles I have used to pipe the design on the template. Using the template practice piping rosettes, star drops and zigzags over my design. This will enhance your piping control and you can practice your own designs in the blank circles.
SUMMARY
By completing these steps you have created some awesome designs to decorate cupcakes and have more confidence to pipe on cupcakes and not to worry about making mistakes, only to scrape off the icing and repipe them over again.
